I’m expanding my watercolour bird and plant paintings from Wetlands to Heath. I love heath country with its stunted, often windswept, trees and shrubs as well as its wildflowers and little birds that dart around in the thickets.
This first painting is called Honeyeaters 1.
I still remember the first time I ever saw Blue-faced Honeyeaters. They didn’t look real with their olive green feathers and bright blue faces. Now, they’re often in our garden feasting on the grevillea outside the studio. They also hang upside down on the banana flowers.
This 76.5 cm x 55.5 cm watercolour-on-cotton-paper painting will soon be available through my online shop. To receive automatic notifications when new paintings are listed, just go to my online shop and click ‘Follow’.
